About Marnie

Everyone deserves to be heard and I love to listen.

One of the most exciting aspects of life is that it is always changing, yet this can also be one of our biggest challenges. Change can be difficult as it can cause stress, uncertainty, and confusion. It can make us question ourselves and others and may overwhelm us into inaction.

Change happens in all of life’s transitional moments and can very often lead to grief and loss.

I am particularly drawn to working with people who are experiencing grief and loss. Grief can arise from many life experiences including death, loss of a job, relationship, identity, culture, self-worth, or self-confidence.

When we experience grief, we end up in a state of transition where we feel uncertain and unbalanced. We come to the realization that our lives are changing and the picture we have had of our future is different from what we expected. This can bring up a wide variety of emotions.

I believe that having someone to talk to who will listen and guide you through these tough times is so helpful.

My hope is that I can help to untangle the issues you bring to counselling, so that you can figure out what is the best way forward from any issue that is bothering you.

I will walk with you as you experience a variety of emotions, acknowledging that everyone handles grief in their own unique way. Our work together will be comforting and supportive using a wide variety of therapeutic techniques chosen specifically for you.

I will work with you collaboratively at your own pace and will provide a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space.
